Outpost can send email alerts about important events happening on your publication — new paid subscribers, donations, cancellations, content publishing, and system issues. Each staff member controls their own notification preferences, so you only receive the alerts you care about.
Notification preferences are per-user. Each staff member on your publication can enable or disable individual notification types independently.

Where to find notification settings

Navigate to Reports & Activity > Notifications in the left sidebar. You will see a list of notification types organized into groups, each with a checkbox. Check the ones you want to receive and click Save Settings.

How notifications are delivered

  • Notification emails are sent to each staff member who has that notification type enabled. There is no shared inbox — each person manages their own preferences.
  • Notifications are sent as individual emails, not batched. You receive an alert shortly after the event occurs.
  • To stop receiving a specific notification, uncheck it on the Notifications page and click Save Settings.
Every notification email includes a footer link back to your Outpost notification settings.

Newsletters

Below the notification checkboxes, the Notifications page also shows a Newsletters section. This controls which Outpost product newsletters your account is subscribed to. Use the toggle switches to subscribe or unsubscribe from each newsletter independently.
Newsletters are separate from event notifications. Newsletters are periodic updates from Outpost about product news and tips. Event notifications are real-time alerts about activity on your publication.

Daily and weekly reports

Outpost also sends scheduled daily and weekly summary emails. Both go to the email addresses listed on the Report Recipients page. Each recipient can pause delivery using the toggle on their row. For details on what the daily report includes, see Report Emails.

FAQ

Each staff member controls their own notification preferences. A notification email is only sent to staff members who have that specific notification type checked on their Notifications page. This is separate from Report Recipients, which controls daily report delivery.
No. The Activity Log records all events regardless of your notification settings. Notifications only control the email alerts you receive — events are always logged.
Daily reports are sent once per day, typically in the morning, summarizing the previous day’s activity. These go to all active Report Recipients, not based on individual notification preferences.
First, go to Reports & Activity > Notifications and confirm the notification types you want are checked. Then click Save Settings. If you still do not receive alerts, verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and check your spam folder.
Currently, the paid subscriber notification only fires when the conversion is attributed to an Outpost Autoresponder email. All new paid subscriber events are recorded in the Activity Log and included in the Daily Report Email regardless of notification settings.
The notification checkboxes are shown for all available integrations. If you do not have a particular integration enabled (e.g., YouTube or Megaphone), those notifications will never fire even if checked. You can safely ignore or uncheck them.
